Are you a Soccer Parent?

Link to the FA's online Soccer Parent course Parents have a vital role to play in supporting children in their enjoyment of playing football. As part of your child's mambership to Dynamo Girls Football Club, all parents are required to agree to and sign their own copy of the Parent Code of Conduct, a reminder of which is below.

In addition to this, we strongly recommend that you complete the Soccer Parent course available online from the Football Association by clicking the image to the left.

Soccer Parent was The Football Association's first online course and continues to provide a great introduction in how adults should behave to support children in the game.

The course is free and all you have to do is register with FA Learning to gain access, so why not get online and get involved today. It offers practical advice, hints and tips on what it takes to be a supportive soccer parent and how to positively influence young players.

Code of Conduct for Parents and Spectators

Parents and spectators have a great influence on children’s enjoyment and success in football. All children play football because first and foremost they love the game – it’s fun. It is important to remember that no matter what the ability of the children involved, positive encouragement will lead to:

Children enjoying the sport

A sense of their personal achievement

Self-esteem

Improvement of skills and technique

A parent’s or spectator’s expectation and attitude will also have a significant bearing on a child’s attitude towards other players, match officials, coaches, managers and spectators. At Dynamo GFC we have therefore created a Code of Conduct that we respectfully ask all parents and supporters to abide by.

Your Obligation as a Parent or Supporter

• Please be positive and encouraging towards all of the children not just your own
• Applaud the opposition as well as your own team
• Avoid coaching the child during the game
• Please do not shout or scream at the players
• Respect the referee’s decision
• Give attention to each of the children involved not just to the most talented
• Give encouragement to everyone to participate in football
• We request that smoking is as discreet as possible when attending training or matches
• To always inform the coach if your child is unable to attend training (for the child’s own safety)
• To always inform the team manager if your child is unable to attend a match

Should any Parent or Spectator be abusive towards a Player, Match or Club Official during any match or coaching session, they will be asked to leave the premises. Repeated breach of any provision(s) of this Code of Conduct shall constitute a breach of the Club rules and shall be dealt with under the procedures as set out in the Club Constitution and Rules (Section 3.5).
