Dynamo U12's v Pevensey & Westham Juniors
Sunday 15th March 2009

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Tegan, Mia, Amy, Ocean

A superb day, with the sun shining and a game to match it. Dynamos started a bit quietly, but it was evident early on that these were two evenly matched teams. Pevensey had plenty of possession early on and put it to good effect when they scored on the 9th minute. However, Dynamos were not daunted and with Chloe E and Ellie playing the game of their lives against girls almost twice their size, it was good to see Amy equalising towards the end of the half.

The two teams started the second half in the same manner with excellent play on both sides. Again though it was Pevensey to take the lead with a goal on the 11th minute, but just moments later Amy scored her second and the game was again wide open. Both teams had chances to win, but both goalkeepers were up to the task with both making excellent saves to keep their teams in the game.

In the end 2-2 was a fair reflection of the game and left the Dynamos celebrating 3rd place in the league. An excellent game to end what has been an excellent season for the girls. Well done to both teams and also to the excellent support.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 2 (1) - Pevensey & Westham Juniors 2 (1)

Scorers: Amy (2)

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Dynamo U12's v Newhaven Girls - Game 1 of Double Header
Sunday 8th March 2009

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Tegan, Mia, Amy, Ocean

A bit of a sleepy start with the girls not really concentrating. The manager had swapped some of the players about a bit to gain some experience. Amy scored on the 2nd minute but after that the game was a bit end-to-end with neither team very convincing. Amy scored her second goal on the stroke of half time.

Second half saw the girls still a little bit quiet - possibly a bit cocky? Newhaven took advantage of that and put together a number of attacks. Their defence was strong as well and the game became a bit tighter. At the end of the half Amy completed her hat-trick, but credit must go to Chloe B who kept a clean sheet and had a really superb match.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 3 (2) - Newhaven Girls 0 (0)

Scorers: Amy (3)

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Dynamo U12's v Newhaven Girls - Game 2 of Double Header
Sunday 8th March 2009

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Tegan, Mia, Amy, Ocean

After a strong chat between the two matches, the players positions were swapped again and Dynamos started with a bit more enthusiasm. The girls attacked from the beginning and began playing the ball down the wings. Chloe opened her account on the 8th minute and Elle just two minutes later. There was some excellent passing and Chloe went on to complete her hat-trick.

With such a convincing first half the girls took their foot off the pedal and allowed Newhaven into the game. Katie scored on 8th minute and the Dynamos continued to control the game. Newhaven scored on the 18th past an unlucky Megan, but overall a convincing performance from the Dynamos which hopefully will see them move up in the league table.

Well done to both sets of players, its tough playing two games in one day even if they are reduced a little, but overall an excellent result for Dynamo GFC.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 5 (4) - Newhaven Girls 1 (0)

Scorers: Katie, Chloe E (3), Ellie

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Dynamo U12's v Crawley Wasps
Sunday 1st March 2009

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Tegan, Mia, Amy, Ocean

A super start with Dynamos out of the blocks from the whistle and Amy scored on 25 seconds to give Dynamos an unexpected lead. The girls played fantastic, but Crawley Wasps are not the kind of team to roll over and they scored on the 5th, 16th and 20th minute to take a convincing lead. However, this Dynamo team doesn't know when they are beaten and an inspired change by the manager saw Chloe E pull a goal back. Crawley scored again towards the end of the first half to make it 2-4, but this was a pretty even contest.

Dynamos fought hard in the second half and the game was end to end with both teams putting together some excellent attacking play. Neither team could find a way through, though Katie had a powerdrive of a shot saved by the Crawley keeper. The action was non-stop but on the 25th minute the league leaders scored again to secure the win.

Overall this was an exceptional game, sporting on both sides but with this win it looks like the league title is on its way up the A23. All of the Dynamo players made excellent contributions with a real captain's performance from Katie, great effort from Chloe B and superb defending from Amy.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 2 (2) - Crawley Wasps 5 (4)

Scorers: Chloe E, Amy

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Eastbourne Girls v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 22nd February 2009

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Tegan, Mia, Amy, Ocean

The game started a bit shakily with a different formation. Eastbourne have a strong defence but we attacked well. Eastbourne were first to score on the 5th then 10th minute, but Dynamos fought back and were rewarded with a cracking goal from Chloe on the 25th minute. Eastbourne scored just before the break making in 3 - 1 at half time.

The Dynamo girls went back out with a positive attitude knowing that they had a lot to do. We attacked and defended well with a few close attempts on goal. Defensively we kept Eastbourne at bay until the 20th minute when we conceded two quick goals. Katie pulled one back just before the final whistle making a final score of 5 - 2.

A great game and well done to both teams.

Final score: Eastbourne Girls 5 (3) - Dynamo U12's 2 (1)

Scorers: Katie, Chloe E

Venue: Princes Park, Eastbourne

Newhaven Girls v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 15th February 2009

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Ocean

Well, we finally got to play Newhaven. A great start with Dynamo's possessing the ball for much of the first half, plenty of shots on target and some great saves from the Newhaven keeper. Overall the passing was good but the defense occasionally a bit weak. Within 12 minutes Ellie took Dynamos into the lead and then scored her second on the 23rd. Katie got on the score sheet 3 minutes later before Amy's shot took a wicked deflection for the 4th. Katie scored again to enable us to go in 5-0 up.

The girls relaxed a bit in the second half with the manager taking the opportunity to swap some of the players around. Again the passing and communication were first class with the girls finding plenty of space and getting plenty of shots away. Newhaven came into the game much more in the second half getting in several good attacks and finally finding the back of the net on the 28th minute.

Final score 5-1 and a superb game for both teams and excellent response from the supporters particularly with the new "Respect" barrier in place.

Final score: Newhaven Girls 1 (0) - Dynamo U12's 5 (5)

Scorers: Katie (2), Ellie (2), Amy

Eastbourne Girlsv Dynamo U12's
Sunday 1st February 2009

Team: Chloe B, Chloe E, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

Despite the freezing cold weather (including snow!!!) this game got underway. Both teams started really positively with plenty of positive attacking play. Eastbourne broke the deadlock on the 10th minute with a well taken goal from outside the penalty area. Play continued in a fairly even manner but Dynamos struggled to get many shots on target. Eastbourne made the most of the conditions and scored on the 20th minute, but just minutes later after a cracking passage of play Chloe E scored to make it 2-1 at half time.

A short half time break then back into the action. Unfortunately a misplaced clearance and Eastbourne stretched their lead. However the girls were really persistant and made several excellent attacks with Ocean having an attempt saved by the Eastbourne keeper. Eastbourne scored again but then Ocean took a cracking corner with the ball breaking for a perfect goal for Amy. After that the game got a bit scrappy with Eastbourne scoring with the final kick of the game 5-2.

The scoreline flatters Eastbourne whose players were generally a lot bigger then some of our girls. Some lessons learnt, but well done to both teams for getting the fixture played and to the parents for their support.

Final score: Eastbourne Girls 5 (2) - Dynamo U12's 2 (1)

Scorers: Amy, Chloe E

Venue: Princes Park, Eastbourne

Sovereign Saints v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 14th December 2008

Team: Chloe B, Chloe E, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

Having previously beaten Saints relatively easily on the last two meetings, the manager changed things around for this match with Ocean in goal and Katie and Chloe E starting on the bench. Sovereign Saints started the game well and there was plenty of possesion for both teams though the ball generally remained in the Saints half courtesy of a number of attacks by Amy and Ellie. Interestingly it was Chloe B who had spent most of the match out of position who got on the score sheet first with a cracking shot from the edge of the penalty area. The Saints continued to battle well until Katie then Mia scored for the Dynamos. The Saints had a couple of good attacks, until Ellie was rewarded for her hard work with a cracking goal when she won the ball in our own box then dribbled the entire length of the field to score. Megan seemed to think this was the way forward and on the 30th minute took the ball from her own half, found herself in acres of space and went on to score her third goal of the season.

For the second half Ellie took her turn between the posts for the first time in the season whilst Katie and Chloe E went into defence. Megan's fine performance continued when she scored on the second minute with Amy scoring moments later. Unfortunately our defence were more interested in attacking which left Ellie horribly exposed for Soverign Saints goal, a well deserved one nonetheless. Katie continued to go walkabout and was rewarded with her second of the match before Megan scored her third - a hat-trick and a match ball well deserved.

The difference between the two teams is evident, but what was disappointing is that some of our players didn't listen to their manager and stick to their positions. More effort required in that area in preparation for stronger future challanges. Well played though to Tegan who had a great game, really comfortable on the ball and Mia again showing lots of determination.

Final score: Sovereign Saints 1 (0) - Dynamo U12's 9 (5)

Scorers: Chloe B, Katie (2), Megan (3), Ellie, Amy, Mia

Venue: Princes Park, Eastbourne

Dynamo U12's v Eastbourne Girls
Sunday 7th December 2008

Team: Chloe B, Chloe E, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

A good start to the game our first time against Eastbourne this season. Eastbourne opened the scoring and were soon 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes. Katie pulled on back on the 19th minute, before Eastbourne restored their two goal lead. The game was pretty open, though we found it hard to break down the Eastbourne defence. On the 29th minute we had a breakthrough with Amy finding the back of the net.

The second half started okay, but Eastbourne scored again. Shortly afterward, Mia who had battled extremely well throughout the game deservedly scored her second goal for the team - score 3-4. The match continued to be close, but a slightly bungled subsitution allowed Eastbourne to score from well outside the penalty box. Despite continued pressure from Chloe and Ellie in attack, we couldn't get another goal, instead conceding one more to give a final score of 3-6.

I'm not sure that the final score reflected the similarities between the two teams, but Eastbourne were worthy winners and we look forward to playing them again in the New Year.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 3 (2) - Eastbourne Girls 6 (3)

Scorers: Katie, Amy, Mia

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Dynamo U12's v Rottingdean Village
Sunday 16th November 2008

Team: Chloe B, Chloe E, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

A superb game of football and great credit to both teams and their supporters. Both teams started the match at a frantic pace with plenty of skill on both sides and the game going from end to end. Katie had a superb first half in goal, making a number of saves, but it was Dynamos who took the lead on 15 minutes from a simply superb passage of play - 4 passes from back to front - goal for Chloe E. Pressure continued on both sides, but again it was Dynamos who scored, a long range effort from Amy deflected over the goalkeepers head by a defender. Half time 2-0 and a chance to gather the breath.

The second half continued in the same vein as the first with so much skill on the pitch it was like watching a premiership match! Chloe B had taken her place between the sticks and a well worked passage of play saw Rottingdean pull a goal back. However, the difference in the second half was perhaps down to energy levels. Dynamos appeared to get stronger and put in a number of attacks with the Rottingdean keeper holding a number of good saves. On the 25th minute another superb attack saw Chloe E score her second and two minutes later completing her hat trick.

The final score of 4-1 doesn't reflect what a great game this was - easily the best of the season so far. Both teams played excellent football, there was some wonderful passing and skills on display. Well done everyone!

Final score: Dynamo U12's 4 (2) - Rottingdean Village 1 (0)

Scorers: Chloe E (3), Amy

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Pevensey & Westham Juniors v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 9th November 2008

Team: Chloe B, Chloe E, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

A wet and windy start to the game but the girls were feeling positive and ready to go. Within the first three minutes Ellie gave Dynamos an early lead over a team that the girls feel threatened by because of their height and strength. The girls battled well throughout the first half, with plenty of attacking play through Ellie and Chloe E, and plenty of quality defending. There was some excellent passing and throughout the girls kept really focussed.

The girls knew this would be a tough game, and were confident and determined as they went out for the second half. Unfortunately they conceded an early goal, but shortly after Ellie restored the lead. Dynamos kept battling hard and their efforts were rewarded on the 19th minute when Amy popped in a third following an excellent cross. WIth just a minute left on the clock, Ellie delivered a superb pass for Chloe E to score - a deserved goal for an almost faultless performance.

This was an inspired performance from the U12's - every player contributed to arguably the best game of the season. Well played, you deserve a medal!!!

Final score: Pevensey & Westham Juniors 1 (0) - Dynamo U12's 4 (1 )

Scorers: Chloe E, Ellie (2), Amy

Venue: Pevensey Recreation Ground, Pevensey

Dynamo U12's v Sovereign Saints
Sunday 2nd November 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

With our usual pitch waterlogged, a late decision was made to switch to pitch 3 so the start of the game was delayed. Sovereign Saints have also lost some players recently, so it was agreed that we would play 6-a-side with a couple of new recruits taking part, and 20 minutes per half.

To be fair the Saints struggled from the first kick of the game and within 5 minutes Dynamos were already 3-0 up with 2 goals for Katie and one for Ellie. Mandi swapped players around to give some of our defenders an opportunity to play out of position and was repaid with Mia scoring her first goal for the club on 8 minutes, this was followed by Ocean on 12 and another debut goal this time for Chloe on 16.

In the second half, players changed positions again with Megan coming out of goal and playing up front and within 2 minutes she had scored her debut goal for the club. Sovereign Saints began to get much more involved in the game, with some excellent passing and goalkeeping. It wasn't until the 9th minute of the second half that Katie completed her hat-trick followed by a brace for Amy, a second for Ellie and then another for Megan much to the delight of her dad.

Whilst this was a one sided match, Sovereign Saints did play their part and much credit must go to their girls for playing in such difficult circumstances. Our girls were sporting at all times and the new players Mia and Tegan contributed well.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 12 (6) - Sovereign Saints 0 (0)

Scorers: Chloe B, Katie (3), Megan (2), Ellie (2), Amy (2), Mia, Ocean

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Crawley Wasps v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 26th October 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Amy, Ocean

Despite the cold and wet weather, the game got off to a good start. The girls knew it would be a tough game due to the conditions but fought hard from the whistle. Ellie popped a goal in at 4 minutes but unfortunately at the end of the first half we conceded an own goal. An easy but unfortunate mistake to make. So, 1-1 at the end of the first half.

With the girls cold and covered in mud, they still managed to keep smiling and battling well. Crawley attacked strongly, but Katie fired a goal in the back of their net on the 4th minute - 2-1 to the Dynamos. The girls kept their heads up with great passing and teamwork, but unfortunately Crawley scored twice making the full time score 3-2 to Crawley.

Well played both teams and great support from the parents. A great performance from Megan who stayed in goal the whole game - well done! All the players need to try out different positions on the pitch and this was a great example of unselfishish behaviour - thank you!!

Final score: Crawley Wasps 3 (1) - Dynamo U12's 2 (1)

Scorers: Katie, Ellie

Venue: Finches Fields, Pease Pottage

Dynamo U12's v Crawley Wasps
Sunday 19th October 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Tegan, Amy, Mia, Ocean

A huge welcome to Tegan, the second new player in two weeks - hopefully she enjoyed her first game. A nice start to the first half with two subs now, it means the girls will get a bit of a rest during the game. Unfortunately, Crawley snuck a goal in two minutes, but Chloe E pulled one back 3 minutes later. Dynamos defended well and attacked strongly but with a few injuries in the first half Crawley managed to go in 2-1 up.

Second half started shakily. For the first five to ten minutes we looked a bit sleepy and Crawley increased their lead to 4-1. Ellie and Katie pulled it back to 4-3, but we weren't communicating well. Megan came off with an injury and Crawley scored two more before Ellie scored her second. For the last five to ten minutes we battled a bit more, Amy almost missed an open goal but scored the rebound, before Crawley scored the final goal of the match.

Overall a bit disappointing with poor defending on our behalf - something we need to work at if we want to compete successfully. Well played girls.

Final score: Dynamo U12's 5 (1) - Crawley Wasps 7 (2)

Scorers: Katie, Chloe E, Ellie (2), Amy

Venue: Telscombe Playing Fields

Pevensey & Westham Juniors v Dynamo U12's (Cup)
Sunday 12th October 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Amy, Mia, Ocean

Firstly a huge welcome to Mia and Tegan who joined the U12 team this week. Tegan's registration hasn't come through yet, but Mia was able to start her first game for the club which was a relief as we were without Ellie, so just 7 players made the journey to Pevensey.

A fantastic start to this Cup match with the Dynamo girls coming out strong and positive. Unfortunately Chloe B had to retire hurt after 9 minutes after her hand bent back whilst saving a goal. Katie replaced her in goal and Pevensey scored shortly afterwards. Despite being a player down, the girls battled strongly and Chloe E levelled the score on the 13th minute. Dynamos defended really well and fought hard but three minutes before half time Pevensey scored again to take a 2-1 lead into half time.

Mia suffered a leg injury towards the end of the first half and was unable to restart meaning Dynamo's started the second half with just 5 players. The girls were not phased and kept their spirits high and morale storming. Within seven minutes we were a full team again. Dynamos did some great passing and managed to prevent Pevensey scoring again.

It was a real pleasure to watch two great teams playing great football. The supporters on both sides were fantastic. Final score was 2-1, but it could have been a different story had we had just those extra couple of players.

Final score: Pevensey & Westham Juniors 2 (2) - Dynamo U12's 1 (1)

Scorers: Chloe E

Venue: Pevensey Recreation Ground, Pevensey

Rottingdean Village v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 21st September 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Amy, Ocean

A cracking first half with goals galore. Rottingdean scored in the first 20 seconds, then Chloe pulled back the equaliser within a minute. Rottingdean then scored again, but seconds later another equaliser this time from Katie. Katie went on to score 3 more goals, but with Rottingdean scoring four more, half time it was Rottingdean 6 - Katie 5!

It was a confident Dynamos that came out for the second half. The girls defended really well with lots of good tackling and passing. Katie scored another two goals before Ellie got into the party. Rottingdean pulled one back (7-8 if you can keep up with this!), then Ellie (7-9), then Katie (7-10), then Elle (7-11), then another two for Rottingdean (9-11), one for Amy (9-12), another for Katie (9-13) and finally one more for Rottingdean - final score 10-13 - phew!!!

Well done to both teams - plenty of goals to keep the fans happy! A club record 8 goals for Katie, and a possible highest aggreate score for a Dynamos team in any competition, thought we are checking the records!! Thank you to all the parents for their fantastic support, two weeks until the next game, plenty of time for everyone to get their fitness and their breath back!!

Final score: Rottingdean Village Youth 10 (6) - Dynamo U12's 13 (5)

Scorers: Katie (8), Chloe E, Ellie (3), Amy

Venue: Rottingdean Cricket Ground

Rottingdean Village v Dynamo U12's
Wednesday 17th September 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Amy, Ocean

A bit of a sleepy start and we conceded two early goals. We then started to get back into the game with Amy scoring first then a minute later Ellie. Dynamo's had plenty of possesion and Amy went on to secure her hat-trick with Chloe adding the teams fifth.

In the second half, Rottingdean came out the stronger and pulled back two goals. We managed to maintain our lead with goals from Chloe and Katie before Rottingdean got a final consolation goal.

Overall a really exciting game and it was great to see Chantelle and Coral playing. Rottingdean had some tall girls on their team and we defended well against them - return match this Sunday!!

Final score: Rottingdean Village Youth 5 (2) - Dynamo U12's 7 (5)

Scorers: Katie, Chloe E (2), Ellie, Amy (3)

Venue: Rottingdean Cricket Ground

Dynamo U12's v Pevensey & Westham Juniors
Sunday 14th September 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Amy, Ocean

The match started late due to a case of missing goal posts, and whilst the first 10 minutes were evenly balanced, as with last year the Pevensey players seem to tower over our own! On the 10th minute Pevensey took the lead but Chloe E levelled the score with just minutes to go to the half time whistle. With just a minute to go Pevensey regained the lead.

Pevensey scored again early in the second half but the girls battled hard and Amy pulled one back making the score 2-3. Unfortunately Pevensey scored twice more before Chloe E scored her second to give a final score of 3-5. A real ding dong of a second half and it was a shame the girls came away worst off, but the height and benefit of a sub made the difference between the teams.

For the second week in a row a really superb match and excellent team effort all round. Well played girls!

Final score: Dynamo U12's 3 (1) - Pevensey & Westham Juniors 5 (2)

Scorers: Amy, Chloe E (2)

Venue: Telscombe Playing FIelds

Sovereign Saints v Dynamo U12's
Sunday 7th September 2008

Team: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E, Ellie, Amy, Ocean

Despite the threat of rain, Dynamo U12's season got off the ground with a comfortable win against Sovereign Saints. The scoring was opened by Amy following a superb pass from Chloe E on the 6th minute, followed seconds later by Katie when the ball unfortunately deflected off the Saints keeper. A first goal followed for Chloe E on the 10th minute and for the remainder of the first half the girls looked comfortable as they passed the ball around. Chloe E made the score 4-0 on the stroke of half time just after Meg had retired with a sore leg.

In the second half the girls swapped positions and carried on playing in a very similar, comfortable style. An unfortunate own goal was scored on the 35th minute, but it wasn't until the 37th minute that Katie scored for the Dynamos. The floodgates opened with Chloe E completing her hat-trick seconds later, followed by Katie then a goal for captain Ocean before Chloe finished with her fourth.

Everybody contributed in this first run out of the season with Choe B keeping a clean sheet, Amy defending and making some superb attacking runs and Megan playing arguably one of her best games for the club. A great way to start the season - well done girls!

Final score: Sovereign Saints 0 (0) - Dynamo U12's 10 (4)

Scorers: Amy, Katie (3), Chloe E (4), Ellie, Ocean

Venue: Princes Park, Eastbourne
