The first half was rather quiet, never the less Amy, particularly, continued to try and defy the odds on finding the net but, alas, this was not to be today!

In the second half Ocean offered to go in goal, her first time, and was instantly faced with, poor defending and a high bounce which, would have been impossible for most keepers to retrieve, giving the opposition a goal. However, having recovered from the shock, she put in a really good performance, well done!

It appeared that this was a shock to the team generally as everyone appeared to come back to life! Lots of pressure in the goal-mouth produced an own goal followed by a goal from Ellie, then Charlie from a pass by Katie, who then also made the final goal of the match. Again there was good movement around the mid-field players with both Jodie and Meg being very much involved. A really positive performance with which to end the season, you have a very proud Manager!!

I would like to finish by saying a big THANK YOU to all the players, to Martin for all his hard work and great support, to Steve, Paul M for refereering, to Paul C generally and for refereeing and last, but not least, to every parent for their great support throughout the season, especially with so many fixture changes!

Sovereign Saints v Dynamo Girls
Sunday 27th April 2008 - 10.30 kick-off (First game of Double Header)

Players: Chloe B (GK - 1st half), Katie (GK - 2nd half), Megan, Ellie, Jodie, Charlotte, Jessica, Amy, Ocean (C)

Faced with back-to-back matches it was decided to play 20 minutes each way with a 15 minute break between games.

Katie was first to score from a lovely pass from Jodie, in defence, she then followed this up with her second, this time from a pass from Amy.

Good play by everyone in the first half and this continued into the second which began with an opposition own goal following an original fine pass in from Meg. Charlie then completed the match with two excellent goals.

here was some great passing of the ball, runs up the field and lots of shots on goal, with Jodie also having a go, however the opposition had an excellent keeper! Amy, although she didn’t score, was instrumental in lots of good passing in and around the box plus many shots which all went a whisker every which way but in!!

Well done to every player, a great team performance

Dynamo Girls v Newhaven
Sunday 20th April 2008 - 10.30 kick-off

Players: Chloe B, Katie, Megan (GK - 2nd half), Ellie, Jessica, Amy (GK - 1st half, Ocean (C)

Where had the snow gone!! Perfect conditions which produced a close match. I felt that Newhaven played more positively and got a well-deserved draw.

The first half, which apart from producing our two goals, was generally rather poor. However the first goal, which was started by Amy’s great kick from goal to Katie followed by her pass to Ellie was excellent play. Katie then got the second towards half time. But Newhaven then followed with a goal just before the whistle.

The second half was better but, again Newhaven were allowed to have a lot of the ball which, inevitably, ended with their second 6 minutes into the half.

I feel the best way to conclude is to repeat what Ocean said at half time “could have done better”. But I would like to say that this didn’t apply to all players as some did perform well throughout the match so well done to them. Thanks to both keepers for their good work in saving the game really!! I am sure we will look forward to all the players being ready for our two games next Sunday so that the season will end with a good positive performance by everyone.

Dynamo Girls v Newhaven
Sunday 23rd March 2008 - 10.30 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK - 2nd half), Katie, Megan, Chloe E (GK - 1st half), Ellie, Jodie, Charlotte, Jessica, Amy, Ocean (C)

The pitch proved unfit to play on so the match was moved to the lower one. The weather deteriorated during the game but the players all just got on with the difficult conditions.

Good defence in the first half but, at times, a bit scrappy in midfield and not enough control of the ball. That aside Amy got the first goal from Ellie’s corner followed by a second, this time off a pass by Chloe B. The third came from Charlie off Amy’s pass. Amy, therefore, was instrumental in all three goals, well done.

The second half was much better, despite lots of substituting! An unfortunate mistake by Newhaven’s keeper gave us another goal. But this was immediately followed up by one from Katie and to finish off the match two from Ellie. The defence, Ocean, Meg, Jodie, Jess & Charlie were all well involved & there were some good passes up to midfield & beyond!

Chloe E & Chloe B spent one half each as keepers but they struggled to keep warm rather than much involvement in the game, thanks to both of them. A good result for the team on a particularly difficult day, well done all!! Thanks to all the helpers too!!

Dynamo Girls v Eastbourne Borough Youth
Sunday 16th March 2008 - 11.00 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK - 2nd half), Katie, Megan, Ellie, Jodie, Charlotte (GK - 1st half), Jessica, Amy, Ocean (C)

Thanks to Eastbourne Borough for arranging that the fixture could be played at their ground. We agreed to play 20 minutes each way in view of the pitch and the players from both teams played well despite the conditions.

Eastbourne went a goal up but Ellie soon produced an equalizer. Amy wasn’t quite so lucky but continues to produce great passes in from the left as well as shots on target. Charlie made excellent saves and so at half time it was level.

The second half remained level, until Katie went back on half way through. Within a couple of minutes she scored. This seemed to spur Amy into wanting some of this so she produced two goals in quick succession, the second from a lovely pass in by Katie.

Jess got involved well in mid-field & Chloe B, in goal, kept a clean sheet, well done. The defence, Ocean, Meg, Jodie and Charlie all worked really hard throughout the match, excellent play. A very good team effort & a well deserved win. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Pevensey & Westham Juniors v Dynamo Girls
Sunday 9th March 2008 - 1.00 kick-off

Players: Chloe B, Katie, Megan, Chloe E (GK - 1st half), Ellie, Jodie, Charlotte (GK - 2nd half), Amy, Ocean (C)

An excellent performance by everyone throughout the entire match. Coming back from a goal down on two occasions & being level until the last 5 minutes, a cruel end for a team that played 110%!!

Both keepers, Chloe E then Charlie put in their usual very competent performances. Good defending all round but particularly from Meg, who had an outstanding game, it was great!

Also, Chloe B is becoming the best header of the ball in the team, very impressive! As for the midfield, Amy scored two great goals, the first from an excellent long pass from Ellie, who seemed to be playing for two today! Katie also played a great role all over the pitch but particularly in defence, that boot just kept getting in their way!! Last, but not least, Jodie is really making her mark in the team despite the fact I keep changing her position!!

Well done, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did, role on Eastbourne Borough on Sunday!!

Challenge Cup Semi-Final - Sunday 2nd March 2008 - 12.00 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK - part 2nd half), Katie, Megan, Chloe E (GK - part 2nd half), Ellie, Jodie, Charlotte (GK - 1st half), Jessica, Amy, Ocean (C)

A brilliant start with Chloe E getting a goal within the first minute of match! Pevensey equalized then gave us an own goal off a shot from Amy. Lots of good play by all players with some great saves from Charlie. The half ended 2-3 down and was a hard fought.

Unfortunately at the beginning of the second half 2 goals were conceded but Ellie came back with a good run & goal with another from Katie, so back to one goal down & into the last 10 minutes. Pevensey were able to come up with another goal in the last few minutes which gave them a good win.

This half was equally well played with good concentration, hard work and a continued desire to win. Once again good goal keeping by both the Chloe’s! Well done everyone, it was exciting, nail biting & good entertainment for Mother’s Day!!

I am one proud Manager, thanks team!

Seahaven Harriers v Dynamo Girls
Sunday 24th February 2008 - 10.30 kick-off

The Seahaven Manager requested that we play 25 minutes each way.

A good start with Amy finding the net, after 3 minutes, with a great pass in from Ocean. This was followed by her second, a good pass in by Chloe B, which she finished off. Chloe E had volunteered to go in goal for the first half & although she had rather a quiet time managed to make some good saves when needed.

In the second half Chloe E soon contributed to the goals, this was instantly followed by the first of Katie’s two goals, the second of which was from a lovely pass from Jodie. This was Jodie’s first match for the club, although this wasn’t obvious to anyone who didn’t know, as she had a great game in defence and for a short while in midfield, with some good passing of the ball, well done - great to have you in the team.

I think the most noticeable improvement generally is the standard of passing particularly from Ocean & Chloe B at the back also from Amy in midfield, who made several wonderful passes into the box, some right across the goal, for someone to get a foot on, it was great to see.

A good performance from the team, well done.

Horsham Sparrows v Dynamo Girls
Challenge Cup - Sunday 10th February 2008 - 11.00 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK - 1st half), Katie, Megan, Ellie, Charlotte, Jessica (GK - 2nd half), Amy, Ocean (C)

Horsham Sparrows requested playing for 20mins each way as they only had 6 players, which we were happy to agree to.

Ellie opened score sheet, within first minute, with first of her hat-trick, a good performance. Amy followed with good goal with some excellent passing throughout the game.

At half-time Jess volunteered to go in goal so Chloe B could see some action, thanks Jess. The players were all juggled around so defence played in attack & vice versa, this provided a more competitive game.

Ocean had a great half up the field & nearly scored with very good passing in both positions, well done. Meg also played hard throughout & got a shot on target. Their keeper had a lot of work to do & did really well, in fact their depleted team played hard throughout, a good performance for them in defence. They then got a well deserved, goal. Katie finished off with our last goal and had another good solid game.

A good performance to go through to next round, well done team!

Patcham United v Dynamo Girls
Sunday 3rd February 2008 - 12.00 kick-off

A good first half despite conceding 4 goals. The players had been reminded to concentrate on what may happen next during play and moving into an appropriate position. Also to continue moving after they have played the ball rather than just watching it. They all appeared to be moving around much better and got much more involved. Charlie had a good half in goal and was unlucky with 2 of the goals.

Going down 0-4 was never going to be easy but Amy started to correct the score line with a great shot, followed in quick succession by Ellie, Charlie and Katy. A tremendous effort by the whole team to make it 4-4. Amy then got her second goal to counteract another opposition goal making it 5-5. A very exciting 20 minutes of play, our supporters really came to life!! Unfortunately, with another Patcham change, this enabled them to produce a further 3 goals for a good win.

However, this takes nothing away from our players, it was a real gutsy performance by everyone, well done! Lastly, Chloe E struggled on despite not feeling well and stuck it out in goal for the second half, thank you, it was a good effort.

Eastbourne Borough Youth v Dynamo Girls
Sunday 20th January 2008 - 10.30 kick-off

Players: Chloe B, Katie, Chloe E, Megan, Ellie, Charlotte (GK) , Jessica, Amy, Ocean (C)

Excellent first half by the whole team, particularly Ocean, Meg & Chloe B, in defence, the latter having put in her best performance on the pitch, well done. Jess, who came on in defence, also played well with much better concentration. Charlie, who was in goal originally for first half only, offered to remain there &, as in her last game, performed to a very high standard, thank you. Amy got a good goal in the 8th minute but it was equal by half time.

The second half I thought would be easier, as was downhill, but unfortunately 2 goals were conceded at 10/12 minutes! Up to that point the play hadn’t been quite up to the same standard as the first half but from then on the players all put in more effort again.

The midfield players tried their utmost throughout the game, particularly Chloe E, not so much in making shots but working really hard to get the ball off the opposition, well done. As always, against Eastbourne Borough, a pretty even game but a good performance from the team.

Sunday 6th January 2008 - 10.30 kick-off

This was a good performance to start the New Year, well done. There were some lapses in concentration by players which, rather like the away fixture, suddenly enabled the opposition to get a couple of quick goals. That really was the only difference in both these games.

Well done to the keepers who performed really well. Chloe E made some excellent saves & Charlie was really excellent, particularly in fearlessly coming out to the opposition, a faultless performance!

The defending was much better, well done. There was some well thought out passing between all players but particularly in attack. Unluckily Amy had 3 very near misses, 2 of which hit the bar, good play though. Ellie also had a great shot.

The first goal came from Chloe E in the first half, from a corner by Amy and Charlie got two further goals right at the end of the second half when the score was 1 - 5!

The players all did well to come back from that score line three minutes before the end & finish on 3 - 5!! A good all round effort from all players.

Sunday 16th December 2007 - 11.30 kick-off

We agreed to play 20mins each way as they only had the seven players.

It was a rather slow start with the exception of some good shots at goal. Gradually our players seemed to thaw out!! Katie, who had played well from the start in defence & attack, was rewarded with a lovely goal just on half time.

The second half was a great deal better all round, particularly noticeable in defence, but also some good passing of the ball in attack, great to watch. Chloe E scored from a corner by Charlie, an excellent demonstration of a corner! Charlie then followed it up with a goal of her own.

Thank you to both keepers, Chloe E & Amy, not much fun on a cold day, but both did a good job. Seahaven have improved, particularly in defence, since our previous encounter so it was a much more even match.
A good end to 2007 so Happy Christmas & New Year to one & all, hope you all enjoy the break!!

Patcham United v Dynamo Girls
Sunday 25th November 2007 - 1.30 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK 1st half), Katie, Chloe E, Megan, Ellie, Charlotte (GK 2nd half), Jessica, Amy, Ocean (C)

Although an early goal was conceded there was a definite improvement in defence. Unfortunately a period of poor marking resulted in 2 quick goals. The players, however, turned this around with some good attacking play. A corner from Katie was smartly headed in by Charlie followed by another from Chloe E – an excellent period of play especially as, being 3 down, heads could have gone down, well done. Just before half-time Patcham got their 4th goal in which Chloe B sustained an injury &, subsequently, asked to come out of goal for the remainder of the match.

The second half started with a poor period in defence, conceding 2 goals in quick succession. This was followed by a goal from Ellie, with Amy & Jess each having a couple of shots on goal – general good play.

During the short period of lack in concentration in each half the keepers were left stranded, hence 4 goals went against us. Without that the score line would have been quite different. Well done both to Chloe B & Charlie, you had to work hard. Generally, it was a better performance than last week & I’m sure the players will now realize how important it is to be alert for the full 60 minutes.

Sunday 18th November 2007 - 10.30 kick-off

A good start which continued throughout the first half. Katie made the first goal at 25 minutes. Patcham immediately came back & scored, following this up with another goal just before the half-time whistle. However, they all played well in defence & attack throughout the half.

The second half was not as good, particularly in defence. Chloe B did her best in goal but was let down by the defenders & Patcham went on to score another 4 goals. The strikers did their best but the team seemed to struggle against a strong wind so there were few opportunities in this half.

The players finished with a good attack, nearly getting a goal, but it ended in an own goal instead! I hope they will remember how well they all played in the first half & take that performance to Patcham next week!

Challenge Cup, Sunday 4th November 2007 - 10.30 kick-off

Beaten by same team last week & coming from behind, not in just one half, but in both. This was an excellent team achievement. Every player contributed in their own way to a good team performance. The defence was solid, the midfielders made lots of great runs with good passing, & up front there was good attacking play resulting in the 6 goals of which Ellie produced a hat-trick, well done!

The best match this season – congratulations to one & all! Well proud!!

Dynamo Girls v Eastbourne Borough Youth
Sunday 28th October 2007 - 10.30 kick-off

The Eastbourne Borough Manager kindly agreed to play 25 minutes each way in view of us not having substitutes available. We began with a 1-2-3 formation. Unfortunately the players weren’t quite quick enough into the match and the first goal was conceded in 3 minutes.

However, from then on they all got stuck in, working well with some really excellent passing & manoeuvring of the ball, particularly from Katie & Chloe E. After conceding a further goal Chloe E got a great goal from a lovely pass from Katie. After that early lapse, all the players worked hard throughout the first half.

At half time we changed to a 1-2-1-2 formation, putting Katie in midfield with Ellie dropping back in front of the defence. They continued well trying to create opportunities and defending for a further 20 minutes when a further goal was conceded. Even in the last 5 minutes, in a half of rain as well as wind, they battled on until the whistle. This was a valiant performance from all 7 players against a strong club with a couple of substitutes. I hope we will have a full squad to take them on again in the Cup next Sunday!

Pevensey & Westham Girls v Dynamo Girls
14th October 2007 - 10.30 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK), Katie, Megan (C), Chloe E , Ellie, Charlotte, Jess, May, Amy, Ocean

Once again we were asked how long we wanted to play so chose 25 minutes each half.
It was soon apparent that some of our players were struggling, as the opposition were generally bigger and taking control of the game. They got 3 goals before Charlotte, who had just come on the pitch, scored from an excellent pass in from Ellie. Another was conceded but, soon after, Katie scored a lovely goal but, unfortunately, the half finished conceding another in the 29th minute!

Martin suggested that the formation was changed to 2-2-2 as the opposition were getting too much of the ball. The second half was a big improvement as only 2 more goals were conceded. Katie managed to finish off by scoring again in the last 5 minutes.

Chloe B was in goal throughout, on this occasion, and made some good saves and clearances. This was their first test and appeared to be rather a shock! However, it was great that they tried to change it around and the effort paid off with a greatly improved second half. Well done to all the players.

Dynamo Girls v Seahaven Harriers
30th September 2007 - 10.30 kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK - first half), Katie (GK - second half), Megan, Chloe E , Ellie, Jess, Amy, Ocean (C)

The Seahaven Manager asked if we would be happy playing 25 minutes each way as he felt the jump from 20 to 30 was too great in just one season so this was agreed.

The players began with 5 goals in the first 15 minutes, which really set the tone for the rest of the half. All the midfield players were excellent. The defence seemed to struggle with lapses in concentration, possibly in view of the unevenness of the teams. Ocean, however, was on the ball and also scored a great goal into the top corner.

There was an improvement in the defence at the beginning of the second half, which was good, so following 3 goals the defence and midfield players were interchanged for the last 15 minutes. Katie had volunteered to take a turn in goal so replaced Chloe, who had struggled with a foot injury.

The attacking play was of a high quality and I am sure the defence will come up with the goods, as they have previously, when there is stiffer opposition. It was also great to have our two injured team members coming to watch and support the others!

Newhaven Girls v Dynamo Girls
23rd September 2007 - 2pm kick-off

Players: Chloe B (GK - first half), Katie, Megan (C), Chloe E (GK - second half), Charlotte, Jess, Amy, Ocean

This was another excellent performance. It was the midfield players who were outstanding this time with their desire for the ball, passing and finishing. First half goals were more difficult to come by as Newhaven’s keeper was strong but with a change in both teams’ keepers at half-time Katie, particularly, made the best of a less experienced keeper 3 of which were in quick succession.

Both our keepers played well. Chloe E got 2 goals in the first half, then managed to save many more than that during the second half, an excellent all round performance. Jessica had her best game by far showing that she could be a strong defender. Meg had another good game plus she gave lots of encouragement to the team in the role of captain.

An excellent performance throughout first half both in attack, producing 4 goals, and also in defence. Slight dip in second half, conceding 2 goals, but this was rectified half way through with 2 further excellent goals. There was some very good passing particularly in midfield but also from the defenders into midfield.

All the new players played with enthusiasm throughout bringing a desire for goals to the team whilst the others kept a secure defence in a mature manner.

This was the first opportunity for the new U11 team to play together and with the exception of Charlotte all the girls were present and contributed extremely well. For the first ten minutes the game was fairly evenly balanced with Dynamos having some chances but unable to finish them. Newhaven made an excellent showing in midfield, but the girls soon got their scoring boots on and by half time Chloe E had scored a hat trick and the Dynamos were 3-0 up. Having such an early lead gave the coaches the opportunity to mix players up, try our new positions and ensure that all the players got plenty of opportunities to participate in the game.

In the second half goalkeeper Chloe came out on the pitch, and various players took the opportunity to play up front and across midfield. Katie scored twice and Elle once, and with Amy hitting the upright we were piling the pressure on. Newhaven had plenty of attacks but Ocean kept solid at the back with support from Jessica. In the middle of the pitch Megan played one of her best games – heading and volleying the ball but for me the best pass of the night came from May when she took a perfectly accurate corner enabling Katie to score with her first touch.

All round a great start and bodes well for the girls with the forthcoming season.
