Eastbourne Borough v Dynamo U11's
1st April 2006
Team: Jessica T (c), Rowanna, Olivia, Ocean,
Meg, May, Jess M & Chloe (GK)
Manager's view:
This was the final fixture of the season and many U12's, with
their parents had stayed, after their last match. Their's
had been a great game to watch, coming back from 2-1 down
to get a draw.
Our match started as if the players had watched and learnt
from the U12's, not so, most of them had been playing in the
sandpit!! Well, if that's what it takes for them to come out
and perform as they did, so be it!!
A tremendous first half, in defence & attack, which enabled
Olivia to have several shots on target. Only 1 goal was conceded
in the last minute before half-time which was from a simple
mistake in clearance.
In the second half an unfortunate own goal was conceded but
all the players continued to play well, though it looked liked
more of a struggle! However, the defence continued to battle
then, from Ocean's pass out to Jessica T who crossed the ball
in, Olivia was able to take an excellent shot & scored.
Eastbourne then scored twice nearing the end of the match.
All the players gave 110%, particularly in doing what Paul
had spoken about at the start and that was "moving on
to the ball" and not waiting for the ball, particularly
in defending. Doing this from the whistle meant that the other
team were not able to get so organised.
In view of the fact that the home fixture was lost by 14-0,
today showed how all the players have worked hard to improve
their game and have succeeded. Well done to all of you, a
great way to end this season.
Final score: Eastbourne Borough 4 (1) -
Dynamos 1 (0)
Player of the match: Chloe. This was given
for Chloe's brave keeping, particularly in the second half
where there were some hard shots at her. I would like to mention
that it was very difficult to pick one person and that there
were two other contenders: Ocean for good organised defending
& Olivia for trying so hard, particularly in the first
half to get the team on the scoresheet. Finally, I would like
to take this opportunity to say how May & Jess M are improving
with every match and really becoming an important part of
this team, well done to both!
Thanks to Paul for all your words of wisdom, to Joe for your
work with the players and to all parents for your support
during the season. It has been a real pleasure to be part
of this U11's team, thanks to you all.
Sundays are REST days now!!

Dynamo U11's v East Grinstead
25th March 2007
Team: Jessica T (c), Rowanna, Olivia, Ocean,
Megan, Jess M, May & Chloe
Manager's View:
As we had played East Grinstead at the beginning of the season
and got a good result 2-2 I hoped that the return fixture
would be similar. Unfortunately the first half couldn't have
been more different. The opposition were allowed to play their
game which resulted in conceding 6 goals.
At half-time Paul had a good chat and am pleased to say that
all the players tried their best, putting in tackles and trying
to win the ball which resulted in Ocean getting a shot on
target which, unfortunately, hit the post. Only three goals
were conceeded in this half and that was with only two in
defence for the last ten minutes. This shows that the players
had far more possession which made it far more difficult for
the opposition to break away. There was much better play by
the whole team.
It was not easy for the players after the first half but
they went back on to the pitch and really tried. If all the
players remember this and take it to our last fixture next
weekend I'm sure the team can finish the season by giving
it their best shot.
Final score: Dynamos 0 (0) - East Grinstead
9 (6)
Player of the match: Megan. For effort in
trying to defend well throughout the match, not forgetting
some really good throws!
Thanks to Paul M for refereeing and also Paul and Joe.

Seahaven Harriers v Dynamo U11's
18th March 2007
Team: Jessica T (c), Rowanna, Olivia, Ocean,
Meg, May & Chloe (GK)
Manager's View:
At last a dry Sunday, just windy instead! Never mind, as just
prior to kick-off, on being asked what would be good in this
match the answer was goals, followed by EFFORT, suggested
by Rowanna, spot on! Well, EFFORT was what we got from the
first to the last whistle by all the players - it was great
to see, especially after such a long break from fixtures.
During the first half, 2 goals were conceeded, from a couple
of errors, then Meg decided to be on the scoresheet, but for
Seahaven!! Other than that blip had a really good game, with
maximum effort. Ocean & Rowanna also defended well with
Chloe making several good saves throughout the match, good
work.
The second half Ocean moved to mid field with May dropping
back into defence, where she really showed the improvements
already made in training, well done May.
There were several good runs from Jessica up the line with
some good moves between her & Olivia. They both had a
couple of shots, and Olivia nearly sneaked one just before
the whistle. All the midfielders dropped back well to help
in defense, without reminders, which was good to see.
Overall there appeared to be more awareness which led to
improved team work - well done all of you! Two more fixtures
with similar performances will be a positive end to the season
which you all deserve.
Final Score: Seahaven Harriers 5 (3) - Dynamos
0 (0)
Player of the match: Rowanna. A really good
performance in defence. Particularly in the second half when
helping with the goal kicks together with moving up, on occasions,
to help with an attack. Great work!
Thanks to Joe for help and input. Even though match was lost
there were lots of positives to take from the it.
Hope all your Mum's had a happy, restful day!!

Withdean Youth v Dynamo U11's
28th January 2007
Team: Olivia (c), Jessica T, Rowanna, Ocean,
Meg, Jess M & Chloe (GK)
Manager's view:
Unfortunately a second poor start in 2007, conceding 6 goals
before half-time.Chloe, her first time in goal, did her very
best and made many saves. The difficulty lay with the rest
of the team who were just not in the game. Enough said about
those 20 minutes!
The second half started with a much more positive approach,
which was good to see. This proved to be a better match which
showed in only conceding 2 further goals. The opposition manager
commented on the difference in the two halves, so it proves
you can all play as a team.
The next fixture is in two weeks. Remember the more positive
second half and bring that determination so that you all have
a much more enjoyable competitive game, regardless of the
final score.
Final Score: Withdean Youth 8 (6) - Dynamos
0 (0)
Player of the match: Chloe. This was her
first time in goal. Sometimes this award has been given for
willingness to play in this difficult position at short notice.
Not on this occasion - having asked all the players for their
nomination they were unanimous and the reason given was also
unanimous. Chloe played for the full 40 minutes with determination
not to let goals passed her, she was beaten on several occasions,
but it was not for the lack of trying. Well done Chloe you
showed a really good match attitude and never gave up despite
the score line.
Thanks to Paul and Joe.

Dynamo U11's v Newhaven Girls
14th January 2007
Team: Olivia, Jessica T, Rowanna (GK), Ocean,
Meg, Jess M, May & Chloe
Manager's view:
A disappointing start to the match.
Paul clearly pointed out before the start that the players
needed to go into action from the start. Unfortunately this
didn't happen so Newhaven were able to score 2 goals in the
first 10 minutes. So instead of being 1-1 at half-time the
score line was 1-3. What a difference that could have made
to the outcome especially as play was much better from then
on! Please reflect on this as this wasn't the only match that
goals have been conceded early on.
In view of this I would ask that players arrive 40 minutes
before KO and that, with the help of parents, they arrive
for the warm up really ready for action. Hopefully when the
whistle blows it will be the team that played in the 2nd half
and not the team that started today!!
Well done for the 2nd half, yes, 2 goals were conceded but
generally all the players played better football.
Olivia scored a good goal, near the end, and had made several
good runs up the pitch with the help of Jessica. Very encouraging
and some lovely passes in from JT.
Rowanna had a difficult time in goal but made numerous good
saves and really kept the team from a worse defeat - well
done! Let's hope it's not left up to the keeper so much in
our last matches.
Please remember this point: if it could have been 1-1 at
half-time that would have meant a final result of 2-3. The
team could even have come away with a draw, that is the importance
of playing from the whistle!
Final score: Dynamos 2 (1) - Newhaven Girls
5 (3)
Scorers: Olivia, Jessica T
Player of the match: Jesssica T - a really
excellent game (after the first few minutes). A fine goal,
nearing the end of the first half, runs down the side with
lovely passes in, but really, for me, it was so good to see
determination and a desire to win. Well done today!
Thanks to Paul M for refereeing also to Joe and Paul.

Dynamo U11's v Eastbourne Borough - Challenge Cup Second
Round
17th December 2006
Team: Olivia (c), Jessica T, Rowanna (GK),
Ocean, Meg, May, Jess M & Chloe
Manager's view:
This is an easy report, praise all round!!
I must admit that I was not as positive as Paul for this
game in view of the previous result of 0 - 14, especially
as Anna had decided not to continue playing football. This
was a disappointment in view of her ability.
However, there were 8 players who proved, through 40 minutes
of hard work, how wrong I was!! My New Year resolution will
be always to be positive whatever the odds!!
Our aim for the game was to try and defend well which Ocean,
Meg & Jessica did really well, together with good saves
from Rowanna. The midfield, Olivia, Chloe & May tried
their best which resulted in a good shot on target from Olivia.
A clean sheet was kept for 12 minutes, a real achievement.
Jessica was moved up into midfield and May dropped back into
defence. Just before half-time Olivia took a penalty, struck
it well but their keeper made a fine save. So 0 - 1 at half-time
showed how well the players had all worked.
Unfortunately, there were a couple of mistakes during the
early stage of the 2nd half enabling Eastbourne to score twice.
But from then on good play was resumed!
Jess, having come on as substitute for Chloe after 7 minutes,
went into defence and really played well - great to see Jess!
Ocean was able to move further up the pitch on several occasions
and even had a good shot on goal, well done! So the match
ended with only 3 goals being conceded, what a difference
to the previous score line and a tremendous achievement.
Final Score: Dynamos 0 (0) - Eastbourne
Borough 3 (1)
Player of the match: Jessica T. It was difficult
to choose a player as everyone worked really hard throughout.
Meg who is getting the ball off opponents more often, May
who made several good passes up the pitch, Rowanna who did
a great job in goal together with those of you I have already
mentioned. Jessica worked hard in defense and followed it
up by playing well in the midfield position - it was a good
40 minutes of hard work, well done!
Thanks to Alan as referee, Joe for helping and Paul for his
positive input and guidance!
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all you
parents! Your support is tremendous and very much appreciated!
You may now rest from football and start cooking instead!!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR to all of you and have a lovely
time, even if it isn't a REST!

Newhaven v Dynamo U11's
26th November 2006
Team: Olivia, Rowanna (GK), Jessica (Captain),
Anna, Ocean, Meg, May, Jess & Chloe
Manager's view:
A windy but dry & sunny day at Tideway against Newhaven.
Paul and I, independently, both thought that, if possible,
it would be good for the players to get on the score sheet
early in the match so there were some positional changes.
Olivia, Jessica T & Anna were in midfield and Ocean, Meg
& Jess M in defence with Rowanna in goal.
The team started well with good attacking play which was rewarded
by a goal 2 minutes into the match from Anna, just what we
planned!! Well done.
There continued to be attempts on goal resulting in Olivia
taking a lovely strike straight into the back of the net.
Terrific! During the first half there was good defending and
passing up the pitch, impressive play all round.
The second half was going to be more difficult as it was
into the wind. However, the players continued to concentrate
well, particularly in defence, with Meg & May doing their
job well on the sides & Ocean, impressively, in the centre.
Rowanna had to make some good saves in this half keeping a
clean sheet for the team, good work!
May, Jess & Chloe came on for periods and all did well
in their appointed position, helping the team in their first
win of the season - thanks to each of you. It was a good all
round performance and you well deserved the win - well done!!
Thanks to Paul for your help, and belief in the team, not
forgetting the celebratory Macdonalds!! Also to Joe for your
support.
Final score: Newhaven 0 (0) - Dynamos 2
(2)
Scorers: Anna, Olivia
Player of the match: Ocean. A really good
hardworking performance in defence throughout the whole match,
it was great to see!

Dynamo U11's v Withdean Youth 2000
12th November 2006
Team: Olivia (captain), Rowanna (GK 1st
half), Jessica (GK 2nd half), Anna, Ocean, Meg, May, Jess
& Chloe
Manager's view:
A slow start, particularly in defence, which enabled Withdean
to get a goal 3 minutes into the match. But then the players
'woke up' and there was much better play both in defence and
some good attacking play. About half-way through the half
a penalty was awarded to Dynamos which Anna keenly took on.
A great strike towards the top of the net but an equally good
stunned save by the keeper! Great effort Anna, Chelsea would
be proud!!
Rowanna made some good saves with equally good kicks up the
field by Ocean and Jessica. Unfortunately Withdean took another
opportunity and make it 2 - 0 at half-time.
During half-time the two minute silence was observed by the
players.
The 2nd half started with Rowanna now in defence with Ocean
and Chloe and Anna, Olivia & May in midfield. Much better
start by all the players showing more competitive play. Jessica
made several good saves and goal kicks with Rowanna clearing
the ball well and Ocean showing more determination to get
the ball off players, keep it up Ocean as you will gain in
confidence.
Withdean managed another goal but not until the 12th minute
but was followed by a 4th almost immediately after. Anna took
a blow to the face and came off for a while, Meg came on and
played well in a central defence position, good tackles and
clearances. Anna returned to the game for the last 5 minutes,
well done. Olivia and Anna worked really hard in midfield
but again it was difficult getting the play out and into their
half. There were some occasions when they managed to and this
was good to see.
Lastly, I am aware that I have been making several changes
to the players positions over the last few weeks, which doesn't
make it easy for them, but it is the only way to see where
they are strongest. Bearing this in mind I think generally
it was a good performance - well done.
Thanks to Terry for standing in as Referee and to Jo for
your help and support.
Final score: Dynamos 0 (0) - Withdean Youth
2000 4 (2)
Player of the match: Jess M. for her persistence
in trying to get the ball off opponents and get involved.
She has played less than anyone in matches and it was good
to see more determination, good improvement Jess.

Marle Place Wanderers v Dynamo U11's
5th November 2006
Team: Olivia, Jess T, Jess M, Rowanna, Anna,
Ocean, Meg, May, Chloe
Manager's view:
Good to have a complete team on another sunny match day.
The previous match against Marle Place was 0-11 so the pre-match
talk was to try and reduce the score line.
Some changes in positions again; three in defence Ocean,
Olivia & Meg with Rowanna in goal. Then three in midfield
Jessica, Anna with May, Jess & Chloe taking it in turns
on left. It was rather a nervous start which enabled MP to
get on the score sheet but from then on all the players made
a real effort to get into the game. Only 1 other goal was
conceded during this half. Rowanna kept her cool and made
some good saves which was helped by some good clearances off
the goal line by the defence.
The second half began with another goal within 3 minutes
but again there wasn't another for a further 10 minutes. Olivia
had a shot from the half-way line, with the keeper off her
line, good try. Megs throws were excellent and it was good
to see Ocean trying to get the ball off the attacking player,
much better. Anna tried her best to get the ball into the
oppositions half, worked hard and was praised by MP's manager,
it was also good to hear her motivating the team - good work.
Olivia played well, mostly in defence, but was a stabilizing
element in the centre with Jessica also working hard.
May, Jess and Chloe all showed an improvement in wanting
to get the ball with far more involvement in the game - well
done. Unfortunately, 3 goals were conceded in the last 5 minutes,
1 of which was well over the 20 minutes.
The match ended 0-7 which was a better score-line but more
importantly the players showed far more determination making
it more difficult for the opposition. This was repeated by
the MP's manager who said that there was a definite improvement
from the previous encounter. He also mentioned how well Rowanna
had coped in goal, especially not being very experienced -
thanks for staying in goal to the end.
Thanks to Joe for your help and support.
Final score: Marle Place Wanderers 7 (2)
- Dynamos 0 (0)
Player of the match: Rowanna for sticking
to a difficult task and seeing it through to the end. Your
confidence grew during the match, it was good to see.

Dynamo U11's v Polegate Grasshoppers
29th October 2006
Team: Olivia (c), Jessica T, Rowanna (GK),
Anna, Ocean, Meg, May & Chloe.
Manager's view:
Yet another sunny day!
Paul prepared the players with lots of encouragement plus
some reminders of training sessions.
The team started well and for the first ten minutes most
of the play was in Polegate's half. Meg, who was playing in
midfield but appeared to be struggling after a short time,
was substituted by Chloe. Polegate scored their first goal
ten minutes into the half. After a short rest Meg played the
last 5 minutes of the half up front, which gave May a rest.
During half-time Paul emphasised the importance of being
involved in the game throughout the whole of the 20 minutes.
The time that the players spent on the ball was good but there
were gaps when Polegate were just allowed to play.
The second half began positively. However, Polegate got their
second four minutes in and another halfway through. May came
on to replace Megan up front so that she could go in goal,
Rowanna replaced Chloe in midfield, who was struggling with
a cold. Polegate got their fourth halfway through this half.
Anna produced a good lofted shot which just went over the
goal. She had already had a couple of other attempts during
the match which was encouraging especially as she had been
in goal for the other matches.
In the closing stage of the game Jessica took the corner,
the ball was passed back to her and she managed a spot-on
pass to Olivia who was just waiting to put the ball into the
back of the net - between them it was a class act!
There was consistent good play by some team members, particularly
Olivia, but it appeared that with others good play came in
short bursts. It is difficult to perform well when feeling
tired and certainly that did appear to be the reason, although
a couple had colds.
The game ended on a high with the goal, which was good. Also
this match was an improvement on the away fixture which ended
0 -5. Two positive points to take into next Sunday's away
match.
Thank you to Terry for being the referee and also to Paul.
Final score: Dynamos 1 (0) - Polegate Grasshoppers
4 (1)
Scorer: Olivia
Player of the match: Megan for making the
effort to play in the match when she wasn't really fully recovered
from being unwell during the week. Not only that but she was
willing to help in being the keeper during part of the second
half - Thank you!
|
Dynamo U11's v Seahaven Harriers
15th October 2006
Team: Jessica T (c),Olivia, Rowanna, Ocean,
Meg, May & Chloe.
Manager's view:
Another glorious day! Paul had given a great deal of thought
to how the players could show their potential. So, with two
members missing, there were some positional changes. He gave
the team a very upbeat chat before the game, showing his faith
in their ability.
With Rowanna in goal and Olivia in defence with Ocean, the
match began. Seahaven showed that they were keen to get on
the score sheet. However, the players worked well & Rowanna
confidently made some good saves. The midfield players, Jessica
& Meg particularly, showed toughness and determination
against the opposition with Chloe also showing that she can
win the ball. May, who was up front, had a couple of opportunities
and tried her best in that position making a good attempt
on goal. The half finished with the players not conceding
a single goal which was a really good team performance.
With more positive words from Paul at the half time break,
plus a few reminders(!), they were ready for action again!!
More good defensive work, kicks up the pitch and passing
by Olivia & Ocean with help from Jessica & Meg. This
meant that Seahaven were still unable to get within striking
distance on many occasions. This, to me, shows such a difference
from our other matches - well done!
Unfortunately, just into the last few minutes Seahaven did
manage to penetrate the defence and scored after a goal line
scramble. Following this Olivia & Meg changed position
in an attempt to get the goal back. The players stuck to the
task and with a pass up field, Olivia was able to have a shot
even though it was from a distance.
The good all round performance continued to the final whistle
- well team, you have proved Paul right, you can do it! A
little unlucky as you at least deserved a draw.
Final score: Dynamos 0 (0) - Seahaven Harriers
1 (0)
Player of the match: Olivia who was placed in defence, with
no warning! However, she soon showed what a good move this
was. It was an excellent performance from start to finish
- well done!
Thank you to Alan for being the referee and also to Paul
and Joe.

Dynamo U11's v Marle Place Wanderers
8th October 2006
Team: Anna, Ocean, Jess T, Jess M, Olivia,
May, Chloe, Meg
Manager's view:
On probably one of the last warm Sundays, the players took
on Marle Place, a club we had only played against in a tournament.
Unfortunately, due to injury, Rowanna was unable to play so
Meg took her place in defence with Ocean.
The first, almost, ten minutes went well, particularly in
defence, which included good saves from Anna. However, then
the opposition got their first goal which was followed by
another four in quick succession. At 10 minutes into the game
Chloe went on for Jessica, who was suffering with a cold and
was struggling to play at all.
At half-time, being 7 down, it was just a matter of improving
by cutting down the number of goals and perhaps getting on
the score sheet ourselves.
Another goal was conceded a couple of minutes into this half
but after that there was a good improvement, with Anna continuing
to make excellent saves. Olivia was able to have a good shot,
nearly a goal! Chloe got a couple of knocks and so Jessica
replaced her in midfield and made some good tackles/passes,
well done and thanks for coming to the rescue!
Despite the final score of 0-11, Ocean tried her very best
in defence with good support from Meg - I will let someone
else take the throws when so far up the pitch, it was an impossible
task for you to get back against this type of opposition,
sorry Meg my mistake!
Jess did well trying to get into space, and I saw a good
improvement in her concentration during the game. May who
played up front then dropped back when changes were made,
as always worked hard throughout the match. The team all kept
their heads up right to the whistle-well done.
Final score: Dynamos 0 (0) - Marle Place
Wanderers 11 (7)
Player of the match: Anna, who had a demanding
match making many, many more saves than conceding goals. She
continued playing positively despite the score line which
is far from easy as goalkeeper. Anna also had praise from
the Marle Place manager and it was well deserved.
|
Polegate Grasshoppers v Dynamo U11's
1st October 2006
Team: Jess, Rowanna, Olivia, Megan, Anna,
Ocean, May, Chloe
Manager's view:
The players started, with Jessica as captain, rather slowly.
I think it was more that Polegate midfield players started
more positively.
Rowanna soon got stuck in in defence with Ocean. Anna, in
goal, soon having to make some good saves. Unfortunately,
Polegate's quicker midfield managed to get behind our defence
for their first goal half way through the first half. This
was soon followed by a second and a third a couple of minutes
before half-time.
May played up front but there weren't many opportunities
for her although Olivia, Jessica and Meg in midfield tried
their best. Ocean was replaced 10 minutes into the half, suffering
with a cold, by Chloe who went into midfield with Jessica
dropping back into defence.
The second half began more positively all round resulting
in more movement up the field and a couple of shots on goal.
May was replaced by Ocean, who went back in defence with Jessica
moving up front. Again Polegate got behind the defence with
another goal, followed by another 10 minutes into the half.
It was from this point that our players managed to keep Polegate
in check. Anna made some excellent saves with Olivia, Meg
and Jessica really trying to keep the ball in Polegate's half.
This was the best part of play all round by our players which
was encouraging. It isn't easy to continue trying when 0-5
down. But their persistence paid off in preventing Polegate
increasing the score line. Olivia moved up front and Jessica
to centre midfield. The improvement continued until the whistle.
I don't feel the score line really represent the match. Our
players did really well in parts of the play, particularly
defending. It was some errors which enabled Polegate to have
many more shots on goal and inevitably some will go in. It
was good to see players improvements, Olivia particularly
in her game awareness, Jessica who played in 3 different positions
and did well in all of the roles and Chloe, in her second
game, who appears to be learning quickly.
Final score: Polegate Grasshoppers 5 (3)
- Dynamos 0 (0)
Player of the match: Rowanna as she has
improved a huge amount in defence, in her awareness, also
not giving up in the tackles and lastly in her clearance of
the ball - well done!

Dynamo U11's v Eastbourne Borough
24th September 2006
Team: Olivia (c), Jess T, Rowanna, Ocean,
Megan, May, Chloe
Manager's view:
This was always going to be a difficult match so it was unfortunate
not to have two of our team available.
Fortunately, Chloe was able to be part of the team in her
first match, ever!! Well done Chloe - lots of good work including
keeping in your position as left mid-field, most of the time!
Good first match for you.
Two players, Jess T and Rowanna each offered to do a half
in goal - so thanks to them both, particularly for keeping
their heads up despite the number of opposition goals. The
first half went well, with Jessica saving several goals with
the help of Rowanna and Ocean in defence.
Good work by Olivia (captain), who took up a new position
in centre midfield. A great deal of running was involved and
she showed that she was up to the task. This enabled May to
be up front, she played her position well and also got stuck
in with some good tackles. Megan ran tirelessly trying to
get the ball as well as helping in defence.
At half-time Eastbourne were 4-0 up.
The second half started well with some good passing forward.
Unfortunately, due to some errors, the opposition quickly
took their opportunities and within ten minutes had more than
doubled their score. This was very difficult for the players
but, with Paul's support, they picked themselves up again.
Jessica, who was now in defence, did some excellent defending,
good long balls up the pich and sprinting back to save a situation!!
Well done.
Unfortunately, the final score was 0-14 to Eastbourne but
it was to good to see that all our players kept trying their
best until the final whistle. Although this was a significant
defeat, it was without our keeper, which makes a difference.
There are positive points and performances which we can take
to our next match away at Polegate next Sunday, so chins up
everyone!
Thanks also to Terry, our newly found referee, particularly
for that final whistle!!
Final score: Dynamos 0 (0) - Eastbourne
Borough 14 (4)
Player of the match: Megan who managed lots
more running and involvement in the match, it was good to
see.
|
East Grinstead v Dynamo U11's
17th September 2006
Team: Ocean, Jess T (c), Jess M, Rowanna,
Olivia, Anna, Megan, May
Manager's view:
The first league game of this season was played away at East
Grinstead in sunshine, long may it continue! The opposition
were new to the league so it was hoped that the match would
be quite evenly balanced which would be good for all the players.
Well, what a start the players made, straight out of the
blocks as they say. Jessica T was captain and straight away
made an impression in midfield both in attack and defense,
not of course forgetting her corners! One of which Olivia
scored from in the 14th minute. East Grinstead then equalized
just before half time.
This was a tremendous effort by all the players. Anna made
lots of good saves. Ocean and Rowanna played well in defence
with help, particularly from Meg who covered a lot of ground.
In midfield May and Jess M. both played an important role
in defense and attack. Jess M did so much running she was
quite exhausted by half time - well done Jess!
And so into the second half, another of Jessica's corners
and a helping foot from Meg made it 2-1 half way through.
Although Olivia managed some great sprinting back into defence
East Grinstead made a good break which provided them with
their second goal, four minutes from the end. This brought
attacks by both sides in a frantic attempt to win!!
However, it remained 2-2 and that was a fair and good result
for both teams.
This was an excellent start to the season - well done to
you all.
Final score: East Grinstead 2 (1) - Dynamos
2 (1)
Player of the match: Jess T who had an
excellent all round game both in attack and defence - well
done.

Dynamo U11's v Horsham Sparrows (friendly)
10th September 2006
Team: Ocean, Jess T, Rowanna, Olivia (c),
Jess M, Megan, Anna, May
Manager's view:
This was the first game for four of last season's U10's and
what an introduction on such a hot day!!
By half-time we were down 0-7! Having said that though there
was some good passing and the two defenders, Ocean & Rowanna,
did an admirable job in the circumstances. That's that half
out of the way!!
The players came out for the second half as if it was a 0-0
score line! Anna took over the goal keeper role and from the
whistle made some really good saves which continued throughout
this half - well done. Megan moved into defence with Ocean
and straight away performed well in that position. It soon
became clear that this half was not going the same way as
the first!
Rowanna, now in midfield with Jessica T, Jessica M and May
all tried their best to get the ball to Olivia up front, this
was not easy! Olivia, as captain, tried really hard throughout
the match and managed some shots, 2 or so on target, well
done. 3 more goals were conceded before the end but the defenders
did a great job again in the second half.
The positive points were their great attitude after half-time
and, because of that, the whole team were able to up their
performance making it a more equal second half. Ocean received
player of the match for her solid performance & endurance
in defence throughout the whole 40 minutes.
Thanks to Alan for refereeing - his first time too!! And
to Paul for his help & support. We will take the improved
2nd half into the next game at East Grinstead!!
Final score: Dynamos 0 (0) - Horsham Sparrows
10 (7)
Player of the match: Ocean
