Junior Kickers Festival - The Triangle, Burgess Hill
Sunday 27th April 2008

Another fun filled day for our youngest age group with nine players available for the final Junior Kickers Festival of the season. Overall the results were again a little disappointing; however the attitude of the players in terms of their approach to the event, wanting to have fun and putting the maximum effort in can not be faulted. Not much to say about the results – instead a review of the players!

Ellen was showing signs of tiredness from her long holiday and her height and build is still against her, but I feel that she will come good soon.

Emily is another small player but listens to her instructions and made some great saves in goal.

Annika played enthusiastically but was missing her parents! Chloe J also had a great spell in goal and again her passing was superb. Little

Chloe once again had a great tournament and scored our only goal. Size is also against her and unfortunately too often ended up on the floor after being strongly challenged.

Hannah played well in phases but now needs to learn from her experiences and put them into practice.

For Abbie it was her first tournament and I was really pleased with the effort she put in. Physically she is strong but might need to improve overall fitness especially when it comes to the normal matches.

Tegan has been strong all season and is easily going to fit into next seasons U11’s team.

Finally our Dynamo Player of the Match was Leonie, who played extremely well yesterday making some excellent challenges and runs and was unlucky not to get more of a reward for all her efforts.

As always it has been a pleasure working with the girls this season and I look forward to seeing how their playing careers develop over the coming years.

Junior Kickers Festival - The Triangle, Burgess Hill
Sunday 30th March 2008

Not such a successful one in terms of results for the girls this time round, but plenty of fun and experience for all concerned.

This time around our team was very much in the younger age bracket and with two new players playing for the first time it wasn’t surprising that we failed to win a game though we put up a good fight every time. The closest match was a 3-3 draw with Southdown Rovers B who eventually won the Team of the Day award.

For us I was particularly pleased with how well Emily played in her first tournament – scoring a goal too! Well done!

Tegan, Hannah and little Chloe continued to show good strength and commitment but our Player of the Day award went to Chloe J who put together some superb passes and was extremely committed throughout the event. Well done to you all.

Junior Kickers Festival - The Triangle, Burgess Hill
Sunday 10th February 2008

Team: Annika, "Little" Chloe, Chloe, Ellen, Hannah, Leonie, Tegan

It was great to be back at the Junior Kickers Festival this weekend and for some of the players it was their first “competitive” match.

The first match was against Newhaven Girls and I was delighted with the level of passing and moving that the girls displayed in a 3 - 1 win which saw Tegan score her first goal for the club.

In the second game, the skill level continued as the girls got a well earned draw. In terms of results, the rest of the tournament took a bit of a down turn, but in terms of effort and ability I can only praise the girls. In general we seemed to be facing players who were either older or it seemed a lot taller – but this never once distracted the players.

At the end it was only fitting that “little” Chloe received the Player of the Day award from the organisers. Despite being the smallest player at the tournament, she worked incredibly hard, played in goal twice, scored and tackled ferociously across the pitch – congratulations, the first award of many I reckon.

The Dynamo Player of the Day was Annika who again was superbly committed and despite getting a ball in the face half way through, was game enough to come back on with enthusiasm and passion.

I would like to express my thanks to all the parents for their support and the manner in which they and the children behaved. Despite one or two of the opposition parents behaving like animals, our own were dignified and supportive in a manner in which was exemplary – thank you and I look forward to the next event in March.

Scorers: Chloe, Hannah (2), Tegan
