Club Open Day with Casey Stoney

Dynamo Girls & Ladies FC is delighted to announce an Open Day which will be held on Saturday 22nd November 2008 from 9.30 - 11.00am.

If you are interested in playing football, then why not come along, learn some new skills and meet Chelsea and England Ladies player Casey Stoney, who is joining us to perform the official opening of the new Dynamo Club House!

Casey StoneyCasey, who played in every minute of England’s World Cup campaign in 2007, is the current holder of the 2007/8 FA Women's International Player of the Year Award. A composed and mature defender with great leadership qualities and superb versatility, Casey has proven herself for both club and country.

Still only 26, Casey already has plenty of winners’ medals to her name having also played for Arsenal and Charlton Athletic. Casey joined Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2002 in the hope of gaining regular first-team football, which she did to good effect. She also enrolled at The FA’s national football academy to combine her studies with a football scholarship.

She led Charlton to success in The FA Nationwide Premier League Cup in March 2004, The FA Women’s Cup in May 2005 and in the 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the 2006 FA Nationwide Women's Premier League Cup.

Casey now plays her football in the famous blue of Chelsea whom she joined in 2007 and was a member of the successful England team which recently qualified as group winners for the European National Championships to be held in Finland in 2009.

Read all about Casey's visit on our events page.

The finishing touches are just about beng completed at the Dynamo Club House in preparation for its official opening in a couple of weeks time.

The inside seating has been constructed and painted, a display case for the Club's trophies and awards has been erected and now the exterior signage has been put up.

A big thank you to all those involved, especially Paul Cartwright who has overseen the whole project from start to completion.

Refereeing Mini-Soccer Fixtures

On Saturday 8th November during the normal training session, Paul Cartwright will be giving a short presentation to parents as an introduction to refereeing mini-soccer games. It will include a brief overview of the mini-soccer rules and what the referee's role is.

We have to provide a referee for each of our home games and need volunteers to step forward to provide this much needed support, particularly for the Under 12 age group. If several parents take this role on from time to time, then each of you may only be asked to participate a couple of times each season.
