Weekend Round Up

All three teams were away from home this week with the Under 11's playing Patcham United for the second week in a row and unfortunately once again came away with 6 - 3 defeat. Don't be discouraged though as Patcham are top of the league and unbeaten so far this season.

The Under 13's were away at Oakwood Youth, a team that we narrowly lost 2 - 3 against at home just two weeks ago. This time however, we came away with a 2 - 4 win and a rather happy management team.

The Under 15's were in a closely contested game at Patcham United with a full eleven players for a change. After being level 1 - 1 at half time, a couple of unfortunate slips allowed the home team a 3 -1 win, but another good team performance was put in by all the girls.

Dynamo GFC Completes First Overseas Signing!

U15 Kit PresentationWe are proud to announce that we have finally been able to complete the signing of Polish player Magda to the Under 15's team.

You would not believe the amount of bureacracy involved with trying to get a 13 year old accepted by the English FA and the league.

However, now the formalities have been completed, we are looking forward to Magda being able to turn out on Sunday in her new Dynamo Club colours against Patcham United and I'm sure the Under 15's will welcome the long awaited boost in player numbers.

Weekend Round Up

The Under 11's were at home to unbeaten league leader Patcham United and were unlucky to go into the half time break 1-2 down in an evenly contested half. However, Patcham took control very quickly in the second half and were certainly in the driving seat. Final score 2-6.

The Under 13's were also playing league leaders Patcham but this time away, and they produced a much improved performance which delighted the coaching staff. Well played by all accounts - keep up the good work!

The Under 15's were at home against league newcomers, Glenco Girls, whose only defeat so far was against league leaders Seahaven Harriers. Glenco were a strong, well organised team but our girls certainly gave them a run for their money going into the half time break 0-1 down. The second half brought the rain and freezing conditions and unfortunately a few more goals for the opposition, one of which took a nasty deflection off one of our own players and gave our keeper no chance. Final score, a very respectable 0-5 and a very good performance from all of the players.

Dynamo GFC link with local secondary school

At a meeting this week between the Club Chairman, Paul Cartwright and head of the PE department at Peacehaven Community School, Collette Barry, it was agreed that the two organisations would form a “School Club Link” for the betterment of the girls game in the local area. “With so many of our players already attending PCS”, commented Paul, “it was time that we put the relationship between ourselves and the school on a more formal basis.”

The link will see the school actively promoting Dynamo GFC as the local girl’s football club and helping us to achieve our growth targets. A useful discussion took place about Ladies football and the ambition of the club to have its own senior team for the current players to progress to. It is hoped that the formal link will see Dynamo GFC coaches working alongside the school to develop after school playing and training opportunities and there is also a further opportunity for the club to make use of some of the facilities at the school.

“This is a very exciting time for the club with the formation of this link, the development of our own club house plus the successes we are seeing on the pitch. In the New Year I am hopeful that we will see the start of our “Three Lions Club” encouraging primary school girls to take up the sport as well as the development of a “Super 7’s” competition for our older players.”

Weekend Round Up

The Under 11's had a free week whilst the Under 13's and Under 15's both had home games.

The Under 15's had the earlier kick-off and entertained Eastbourne United Colts coming away with a 3-2 win after experiencing some extreme weather conditions during the game. The Under 13's game against Oakwood Youth followed and after being 2-0 up at half time, came away with a disappointing 2-3 defeat.

Weekend Round Up

The Under 11's came from behind twice in a thrilling Challenge Cup game encounter away at Eastbourne Borough Youth before emerging with a fantastic 6 - 3 win. The next round of the Challenge Cup has not been drawn yet but it will take place on 13th January 2008 so please mark this in your diaries right away!

The Under 13's went out of the Challenge Cup in a 1 - 12 defeat to a strong Horsham Sparrows side and the Under 15's ended up without a game as opponents Hastings Borough Youth let us down just one hour before kick-off.
