Weekend Round Up

At last, even though Saturday's training was cancelled, a full weekend of fixtures took place for the Dynamo teams.

The Under 11's travelled to Eastbourne Borough and although they lost 1 - 3, it was a fairly even game. The Under 13's were at home to league leaders Patcham United and again, I understand it was a good game with the away team winning 1 - 4.

The Under 15's travelled east to Worthing Minors and although they started off slowly with the wind against them, and struggled to get the ball into our opponents half, the second half was a different story. From being 2 - 0 down at half time, goals from Paige and Magda evened the scoreline until an unfortunate bounce took the ball over our keeper to give the home team the lead. A further goal followed, but a very respectable 2 - 4 result with just the ten players again.

Re-arranged Fixtures

With the weather playing havoc with the fixtures this weekend for many of the league clubs and the need to get the scheduled Challenge Cup fixtures played, some of the fixtures have been re-arranged as follows:

Under 11's: Challenge Cup fixture will now take place on 10th February 2008, meaning that the home game originally scheduled for this date has been moved to 27th April 2008.

Under 13's: The home league fixture against Eastbourne Borough Youth will now take place on 9th March 2008 instead of 10th February 2008 to enable them to fulfil their own Challenge Cup fixture on this date.

Please note that this is the second time that the U13's fixture has been re-scheduled this week - the original date given was 16th March but this has now been revised to be on 9th March

To download and/or print full updated fixture lists for any of the age groups, please do so here (Excel format - opens in a new window).

Weekend Round Up

With the Under 11's Challenge Cup fixture against Horsham Sparrows cancelled due to an unplayable pitch, it was left to the Under 13's and Under 15's to represent the Club this weekend.

The Under 13's were at home to Polegate Grashoppers, who are just one place above us in the league, and this was always going to be closely contended game. I await the official match report, but with a final score of 3 - 4 to Polegate, it sounds as though it was every bit as exciting as we thought it would be.

The Under 15's were away to Glenco Girls in the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup. Glenco's only defeat this season has been to Seahaven Harriers and they therefore sit proudly in second place in the league. With our team being down to just ten players without Harriet, the girls put on a magnificent performance with every single player contributing to the brilliant team effort. Although the final score was 0 - 2 to Glenco, there was very little between the two sides and all the supporters (from both teams I might add) agreed what a fantastic game it was to watch and how well you all played. Well done - you should be proud!

Junior Kickers Festival Dates Announced

We have now been provided the provisional dates of the Junior Kickers Festivals for the Under 10's which are 10th February, 30th March and 27th April 2008.

These festivals are a great opportunity for our youngest age group to participate in a variety of short tournament style games in an indoor venue to introduce them to the beautiful game.

Weekend Round Up

All of our teams were at home this weekend, but although some good football was played, no wins were on the cards.

The Under 11's were up first against Pevensey & Westham Juniors, a good side who we were unlucky to lose to away from home earlier in the sesaon. Being just 1 - 2 down at half time, there was every possibility that this time we could turn the result around, but it was not meant to be. Final score 3 - 5 to Pevensey.

The Under 15's faced an uphill struggle with only having 8 available players against East Grinstead, but as our opponents only had 9, this seemed to not be as bad as was first thought. However, it was a large pitch for so few players and we got caught in midfield with large gaps between the forward and defensive players a number of times with tired legs. Final score 1 - 6 to East Grinstead with the final two opposition goals coming close to the final whistle.

The Under 13's had the later kick-off against Seahaven Harriers and were unlucky with the first two goals that were conceded. However, we managed to score a good goal before finally having to admit a 1 - 3 defeat with the final goal being scored from a header from a well delivered corner.

Next weekend sees the Under 11's and Under 15's in Cup action and hopefully a full squad of players, so put this weekends' results behind you and focus on the positive aspects as there was certainly some good passages of play in the games that I saw today.
