Weekend Round Up

Mixed fortunes for the Club this weekend.

The Under 11's were away to Seahaven Harriers, just down the road in Newhaven. New signing Jodie had her first experience of a match and met the challenge well, whilst injured Ellie came down to support from the sidelines. Goals came from Katie, Chloe E and Amy with a final score of 0 - 5.

The Under 13's were without a game this weekend but the Under 15's played host to Worthing Town. A slow start and not the best performance we've seen, but they did well to keep the visitors at bay and it was good to see Harriet back in the side and making some great saves in goal. A closely contended match with both teams on an even keel, but after keeping the score at 2 - 2 for some time, Worthing came out eventual winners in the last 15 minutes. Final score 2 - 4.

Although it is Mothers Day next Sunday (don't forget girls!), the Under 11's will be in action in the semi-final of the Challenge Cup at home against Pevensey & Westham Juniors, and could do with some support so come along and cheer on the girls if you can. The Under 15's are away to East Grinstead and hopefully will be able to field a full side once more!

Weekend Round Up

A fantastic weekend for the Club!

The Under 10's attended their first Junior Kickers Festival at Burgess Hill and for some of our newest and youngest players, this was their first taste of small sided matches.

The Under 11's were in Cup action away at Horsham Sparrows and came away with a 1 - 5 win to get through to the next round with a home fixture against Pevensey & Westham Girls on 2nd March.

The Under 15's took the long drive to Bognor Regis (without getting too lost I hasten to add!) to play Predators and successfully won 3 - 5 with goals from Emily Bridgman, Bethany and Paige. There were definitely some comical sights during this game whereby Paige started to celebrate a goal that never was and Emily Bridgman taking Steve's half time advice literally and trying to score with her head even though the ball was about three feet above her (only kidding Em!).

All in all, a very satisfying day at the office so to speak - don't forget to read all the match reports and there are also photos from all the games on the relevant image gallery pages.

Weekend Round Up

Another full weekend of fixtures with the Under 11's and Under 13's away from home and the Under 15's at home after spending the last two weekends travelling to Worthing!

The Under 11's were up against league leaders Patcham United once again and it was a credit to them that although they were 0 - 4 down at half time, they managed to bring the teams level at 4 - 4 and again at 5 - 5. However, it was not to be our day and the final result ended 8 - 5. It's Challenge Cup weekend next week away at Horsham Sparrows, so we have a good chance of reaching the semi-finals if you keep up the good work.

The Under 13's were away at Marle Place Wanderers and came away with a 5 - 1 defeat. Just one more league game left now which is on 9th March at home against Eastbourne Borough, so lets finish the season with a good game.

The Under 15's were in a closely contested game against Hangleton Rangers and it was real edge of the seat stuff from a spectators point of view. We took the lead early on with an excellent goal from Sharni, followed up by another to give us a 2 - 0 advantage. However, Hangleton pulled one goal back and then another to leave the sides level at half-time on 2 - 2. Harriet came on at half time to give us a whole 11 players for a change and immediately had an impact by linking up with Beth who scored to give us the lead back once more. 20 minutes later Hangleton equalised once more, but shortly after we were awarded a penalty which Harriet took to give us a 4 - 3 lead which was maintained until the final whistle. Well done girls - you did good once more - just this time you got the result and another long awaited 3 points in the bag!
