Happy New Year! |
| |
Dynamo Girls Football Club wishes all
of our players, supporters and volunteers a happy, healthy and prosperous
2008.
I'm sure you all can't wait to get back to football after the Christmas
break (and I am sure you have all been practising your skills!),
so normal training resumes on Saturday morning at the usual times.
All of our teams are playing in home league fixtures on Sunday
- kick-off times available here.

Weekend Round
Up |
|
Saturday saw the last training session
of 2007 followed by the annual Christmas Party in the afternoon
at Telscombe Civic Centre including a visit by Father Christmas
himself. Hopefully we will have some photos of the celebration if
Steve P has managed to work out how to use his camera properly!
Sunday saw both the Under 11's and Under 15's in action away from
home, whilst the Under 13's had a free weekend.
The Under 11's took a while to get going, but eventually ran out
with a 0 - 3 win. The least said about the Under 15's game the better
- we started off with just ten players as Sharni was ill, Harriet
had to go to hospital during the game so we were down to nine, and
three yellow cards were shown, the game was definitely "eventful"
shall we say.
No training now until Saturday 5th January and all teams are at
home on Sunday 6th January so take some time out, re-charge your
batteries and see you all in the New Year!

Dynamo Xmas Party |
|
Just a reminder that this Saturday (15th)
sees the annual Christmas Party which is being held at Telscombe
Civic Centre on the South Coast Road, Telscombe Cliffs between 4
and 6.30pm.
Each of the age groups has been asked to bring a contribution to
training on Saturday morning as follows:
Under 10's / Under 11's - Savoury items
Under 13's - Sweet items
Under 15's - Soft drinks
In addition, we will be holding a raffle, so any prizes for this
will be gratefully received. Again, just bring them along to training
on Saturday morning.
Remember, the party has been organised for ALL
players, parents, supporters and volunteers of the Club, so there
is no excuse for anyone to miss out on the FUN!

Dynamo Coach
gains FA Level 2 Qualification |
| |
We are delighted to announce that coach
Martin Perkins successfully passed his FA Level 2 qualification
last week.
To obtain this, coaches have to attend an initial six day course
held by the County FA, complete numerous "on the job"
assessments over a period of time, attend two further days of support
training and then complete two days of final assessments.
This is a huge accomplishment by Martin both in terms of the time
he has given up and the dedication that he has shown to complete
the task in hand, and on behalf of the Club we pass on our congratulations
and hope that he manages to take a well deserved break over the
Christmas period. Well done Martin and thank you!
Martin in turn has asked us to thank all at the Club for their
support and encouragement. The Under 13's and Under 15's for letting
him practice his sessions with them, the Under 11's for the disruption
to their training while he did this and the coaches & managers
for their flexibility and co-operation enabling him to work with
the other age groups. Martin has really appreciated this and he
feels that although the qualification is in his name, it is the
players and the Club who will get the benefit. He passes on a big
thank you to all of you for your support & encouragement.

Training &
Match Cancellations |
| |
Training for ALL age groups today is
cancelled due to the imminent inclement weather and the condition
of the pitches up at the Playing Fields.
In addition, all the scheduled games for tomorrow (9th) have also
been cancelled - these fixtures will be re-arranged for some time
in the New Year.
Therefore, we are cancelling the planned "Keep it Shut!"
day and will be re-arranging this for a future date.

ASDA Bag Packing |
|
On Saturday 8th December, volunteers
from Dynamo GFC will be at ASDA at Brighton Marina packing bags
to help raise funds for the Club and CLIC Sargent, the childrens
cancer charity.
December is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and whatever we can
do to support this worthwhile cause has got to be worth it - 10
children and young people are diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia
every day and with the advances in treatment, seven out of ten children
survive childhood cancer.
If you haven't already put your name down to help out, it's not
too late - just let your Manager know as soon as you can. You will
need to wear your full Club playing kit along with your Club jacket.
There will be plenty of chances to get yourself in the photographs
so don't forget to put on your make-up!
To find out more about CLIC Sargent, visit their website www.clicsargent.org.uk
